For drivers

Drive on your own schedule

Oye.cab drivers take work from an open marketplace instead of being assigned shifts. You publish when you are available, accept the rides that fit, and see exactly what each completed trip paid out.

Getting started

How do you become a driver on Oye.cab?

Onboarding is a checklist, not a black box. At every step the app tells you what is still outstanding and what is blocking you from accepting rides.

  1. Create a driver account

Sign up in the app and choose the service region you want to drive in. The region decides which documents you need and which payment methods apply to your rides.

  2. Add your vehicle

Register the car you will drive, including its class. Vehicle class affects which requests you are shown and how those rides are priced.

  3. Upload your documents

Licence, insurance and vehicle papers go in as photos or PDFs. Each one is reviewed, and expiring documents are flagged before they lapse.

  4. Get verified and drive

Once your profile is complete and approved, open rides in your region become visible. Publish your agenda and start accepting.

The work itself

What driving on the platform looks like

Choose your rides

Open requests in your region are listed with pickup, drop-off and what the trip pays. You accept the ones you want; nothing is force-assigned to you.

Set your own hours

Your agenda says when you are available. Work outside those hours does not chase you, and you can change it whenever your week changes.

Day hire, not just rides

Publish a listing for your vehicle and your time by the day. Riders request it, you approve or decline, and the booking is confirmed once they pay.

Run the trip from your phone

Mark arrival, verify the rider's PIN to start, chat in-app about a changed pickup point, and close the trip when you are done.

See every payout

Each completed trip records the fare, the platform commission and what was paid out to you, so earnings can be checked trip by trip.

Work for a fleet, or for yourself

Independent drivers take marketplace rides. Drivers attached to a taxi operator also receive work assigned directly by their dispatcher.

Requirements

What you need before you can accept a ride

Requirements are set per service region, so the exact list depends on where you drive. In every region, the pattern is the same: a complete profile, a registered vehicle, and verified documents.

Until all three are in place, the app will show you what is missing and rides stay locked. That gate exists so riders never get matched with a driver whose paperwork has lapsed.

Typically required

  • A valid driving licence
  • The taxi or passenger transport permit your region requires
  • Vehicle registration for the car you drive
  • Valid insurance covering passenger transport
  • A vehicle that matches one of the platform's vehicle classes

Your region's checklist is shown during onboarding — treat this as the shape of it, not the final word.

Driver FAQ

Questions drivers ask

Drivers

How do I become a driver on Oye.cab?

Create a driver account in the app and follow the onboarding steps. You add your vehicle, upload the documents required in your service region, and wait for verification. Once your profile is complete and approved, rides in your region become visible to accept.

What documents do drivers need?

The exact list depends on the service region, because each region sets its own requirements. In practice it covers driving and taxi licences, insurance and vehicle papers. Onboarding shows the outstanding items and blocks ride acceptance until they are verified.

How and when are drivers paid?

Completed trips are recorded with the fare, the platform commission and the amount paid out, and the running total is visible as payout history in the driver app, so earnings can be checked per trip rather than only in a monthly summary.

Can I choose my own hours?

Yes. Drivers publish an agenda of when they are available and accept rides from an open marketplace rather than being assigned shifts. Drivers who are part of an operator's fleet may also receive work assigned by their operator.

Can I rent out my car and driving time by the day?

Yes. Drivers can publish a day-hire listing for their vehicle and time. Riders request it, you approve or decline, and the reservation is confirmed once the rider pays.
