Sub-regions
Larger areas are split into sub-regions, so a city and the villages around it can share a service area while still being priced and dispatched separately.
Coverage
Oye.cab operates in the Netherlands, run from Book A Ride in Wolvega, Friesland. Bookings are validated against geofenced service areas, so you can only book a ride that a driver in that area can actually complete.
These are the areas the platform serves today. Additional regions are prepared one at a time, because each one needs its own drivers, pricing configuration and payment methods before it can be switched on.
If your address is not covered yet, tell us where you are — email contact@oye.cab with your town. Demand in a specific place is the main thing that decides what opens next.
How it works
A service area is a geofenced zone with its own drivers, pricing and payment rules. When you enter a pickup and drop-off, the platform works out which area the trip belongs to, and the booking is only created if that area can serve it.
Larger areas are split into sub-regions, so a city and the villages around it can share a service area while still being priced and dispatched separately.
Each region carries its own pricing configuration, with a platform-wide fallback. That is why the same distance can quote differently in two regions.
Which payment methods are available — card, cash, invoice — is decided per region rather than globally.
Common point-to-point trips inside a region, such as a town to an airport or a station, can be offered at a set price instead of a distance-based quote.
Which documents a driver must have verified is defined per region, so local licensing rules are enforced by the region they drive in.
Regions carry their own currency, and amounts shown outside the home currency are converted with refreshed exchange rates.
Coverage FAQ
Oye.cab operates in the Netherlands, with the company based in Wolvega, Friesland. Bookings are validated against the geofenced service area they fall in, so a pickup outside a live area cannot be booked. Additional regions are being prepared.
Your pickup or drop-off is most likely outside a live service area. Each area is a geofence with its own drivers, pricing and payment methods, and a ride can only be created when both ends can actually be served.
Yes, where they fall inside a live service area. Longer trips of this kind are often available as fixed routes, which means a single set price for that region rather than a distance-based quote.
Email contact@oye.cab with your town and the trips you would book. New regions open where there is both demand and drivers, and this is how we find out about the first half.
