Booking a ride
How do I book a taxi with Oye.cab?
Enter your pickup and drop-off address in the app, pick a vehicle class, and you are shown the full fare before you confirm. Once you confirm, the ride is offered to available drivers in your service region and you are notified as soon as one accepts.
Can I book a taxi without creating an account?
Yes. Guest booking lets you request a ride with just the details needed to complete it, at the same fixed fare as an account holder. You still get trip tracking and a receipt. An account is only required for features that need history, such as saved trips and promo balances.
Can I book a ride in advance?
Yes. Rides can be booked ahead of time rather than only on demand, and day-hire reservations let you book a vehicle and driver for a longer block. For a reservation, the driver approves the request first, then you pay to confirm it.
What is a fixed-route ride?
A fixed route is a common point-to-point trip inside a service region, such as a town to an airport, offered at a set price for that region. You pick the route instead of typing two addresses, and the price does not change with traffic or waiting time.
How far in advance can I cancel?
You can cancel from the app before the trip starts. Depending on how late the cancellation is and the rules of your region, a cancellation or no-show fee may apply, and any charge already taken is refunded through the original payment method.
What happens if no driver accepts my ride?
The request stays open and visible to drivers in your service region until one accepts it or it is closed automatically. If it closes without a driver, you are not charged, and any authorised payment is released back to you.
Fares and payment
How is the fare calculated?
The fare is calculated on our servers from the driving distance, the estimated duration, the vehicle class you choose and any surcharges that apply to your requirements. The result is one total shown before you book. The app never calculates or adjusts the price itself.
Is the price I see the price I pay?
Yes. The quote you accept is the fare for the trip. It does not move with traffic, waiting time or the route the driver takes. The only additions are charges you trigger yourself, such as a cancellation fee or a change made after the trip is under way.
Which payment methods can I use?
Card payments are processed through Stripe. Cash is available where the service region allows it. Business accounts do not pay at booking at all; their rides are collected on a monthly invoice instead.
Do you charge a surge or peak-hour multiplier?
There is no dynamic surge multiplier applied after you request a ride. Pricing is configured per service region, so what changes between regions is the configured rate, not a live multiplier reacting to demand while you book.
Where do I find my receipt?
A receipt is generated for every completed trip and is available in the app under your trip history, with the fare, any surcharges and the total charged. Business account rides appear as lines on the monthly invoice instead of individual receipts.
Can I use a promo or referral code?
Yes. Promo codes apply to standard rides, fixed-route bookings, guest bookings and reservations. Enter the code before confirming and the discount is reflected in the total you are shown, so you always see the final amount before you commit.
What if I think I was charged incorrectly?
Open a dispute against the trip or the receipt in the app, or email support@oye.cab with the trip reference. Support reviews the trip record and the charge, and any refund is issued back through the original payment method.
During the trip
How do I know I am getting into the right car?
Every trip has a personal PIN shown in your app. The driver has to enter or confirm the matching code before the trip can be started, so a car that cannot complete the check is not your booking. Vehicle and driver details are shown before pickup as well.
Can I track my driver?
Yes. Once a driver accepts, their live position and the route towards you are shown on the map, and the trip status updates as they head to pickup, arrive, start the trip and complete it.
Can someone else follow my trip?
Yes. You can share a read-only trip link. Whoever opens it can follow the route and the arrival without an account, and the link is scoped to that trip only, so it exposes nothing else about your account or history.
How do I contact my driver?
Use the in-app chat attached to the trip. Neither side has to share a phone number, and messages are held only for the retention period set for trip chat, then cleared.
I left something in the car. What now?
Email support@oye.cab with the trip date, the pickup and drop-off, and a description of the item. Support can identify the trip and contact the driver on your behalf.
Coverage
Where does Oye.cab operate?
Oye.cab operates in the Netherlands, with the company based in Wolvega, Friesland. Bookings are validated against the geofenced service area they fall in, so a pickup outside a live area cannot be booked. Additional regions are being prepared.
Why can't I book from my address?
Your pickup or drop-off is most likely outside a live service area. Each area is a geofence with its own drivers, pricing and payment methods, and a ride can only be created when both ends can actually be served.
Do you serve airports and stations?
Yes, where they fall inside a live service area. Longer trips of this kind are often available as fixed routes, which means a single set price for that region rather than a distance-based quote.
Drivers
How do I become a driver on Oye.cab?
Create a driver account in the app and follow the onboarding steps. You add your vehicle, upload the documents required in your service region, and wait for verification. Once your profile is complete and approved, rides in your region become visible to accept.
What documents do drivers need?
The exact list depends on the service region, because each region sets its own requirements. In practice it covers driving and taxi licences, insurance and vehicle papers. Onboarding shows the outstanding items and blocks ride acceptance until they are verified.
How and when are drivers paid?
Completed trips are recorded with the fare, the platform commission and the amount paid out, and the running total is visible as payout history in the driver app, so earnings can be checked per trip rather than only in a monthly summary.
Can I choose my own hours?
Yes. Drivers publish an agenda of when they are available and accept rides from an open marketplace rather than being assigned shifts. Drivers who are part of an operator's fleet may also receive work assigned by their operator.
Can I rent out my car and driving time by the day?
Yes. Drivers can publish a day-hire listing for their vehicle and time. Riders request it, you approve or decline, and the reservation is confirmed once the rider pays.
Business and operators
How does a business account work?
Once your company is approved, staff book rides without paying at checkout. Rides open for drivers immediately and are collected on one monthly invoice, delivered as a PDF with each trip as its own line for reconciliation.
Can a taxi company use Oye.cab with its own drivers?
Yes. Taxi operators get a console for their own fleet: invite drivers, assign work to a specific driver, and manage company documents and vehicles. Everything the operator sees stays inside the service regions they are approved for.
How do I apply for a business or operator account?
Email contact@oye.cab with your company name, registration number, the service region you operate in and roughly how many rides or drivers are involved. Business and operator accounts both go through an approval step before they are switched on.
Account, privacy and data
How do I delete my account and data?
You can request deletion of your account and related data directly from the app if you can sign in. If you cannot, email contact@oye.cab from the address on the account and we will handle the request.
What data does Oye.cab collect?
The data needed to run a booking: your contact details, pickup and drop-off locations, trip and payment records, and app usage data. Location is used to match you with drivers and to track the trip. Full detail is in the privacy policy.
How do I contact support?
Email support@oye.cab for anything about a ride, a charge or an account, and contact@oye.cab for company, partnership and data requests. Include the trip reference where you have one so it can be found quickly.
