Book your first ride
From installing the app to holding a receipt, including how to book as a guest without an account and what the trip PIN is for when the car arrives.
This walks through one complete booking. It takes about five minutes, most of which is waiting for a driver to accept.
1. Install the app
Get Oye.cab for iOS or Android.
You do not need to create an account to book. Guest booking gets you the same fixed fare as an account holder, with trip tracking and a receipt. An account only matters for things that need history — saved trips, promo balances.
2. Enter pickup and drop-off
Type both addresses. If a fixed route covers your trip — a town to an airport, typically — you can pick the route instead of typing addresses, and get that region’s set price.
If the app will not accept an address, it is almost certainly outside a live service area. See what a service region is.
3. Choose a vehicle class and add requirements
Add anything that changes the car you need: extra seats, luggage, assistance. Add it here rather than on the kerb — these are priced into the quote instead of argued about later.
4. Check the fare, then confirm
You are shown one total, calculated on our servers from distance, duration, vehicle class and surcharges.
Have a promo or referral code? Enter it before confirming. The discount is reflected in the total you are shown, so the number on screen is the final one either way.
That number does not move with traffic, waiting time or the route taken.
5. Wait for a driver
Your request goes to available drivers in your service region, and you are notified as soon as one accepts. The first to accept becomes your driver.
If nobody accepts, the request stays open until it is closed automatically. If it closes without a driver, you are not charged, and any authorised payment is released back to you.
6. Track the car
Once a driver accepts, you get their live position and route on the map, plus vehicle and driver details. Trip status updates as they head to pickup, arrive, start and complete.
Want someone to meet you? Share the read-only trip link — it covers that trip only.
7. Give the driver your PIN
Your app shows a personal trip PIN. The driver must enter or confirm the matching code before the trip can start. If a car cannot complete this check, it is not your booking.
8. Ride, and get your receipt
Message in-app if plans change; no phone numbers involved. When the trip closes, a receipt is generated with the fare, any surcharges and the total charged, available in your trip history.
Booking on a business account instead? The ride appears as a line on the monthly invoice rather than as an individual receipt.
If you need to cancel
Cancel from the app before the trip starts. Depending on how late it is and your region’s rules, a cancellation or no-show fee may apply, and anything already taken is refunded through the original payment method.
